This was a self-initiated university project, looking at the theme of ‘the destruction of nature’. The ‘book’ of leaf prints was inspired by leaf pressing and the act of removing things from nature, and destroying them for selfish purposes.
The title is taken from a Ryuichi Sakamoto song lyric, and references the canaries once used to test for dangerous gases in mining.
